Thanks, Tania! The pitch is surprisingly enjoyable to work on, although the more I hone it the less relation it seems to bear to the book, or how I think of the book anyway. Hmm... And yes, the Arts Council funding cuts are so depressing. Writers Inc were reading a list of some of there past winners - names such as Tobias Hill and Maggie O Farrell leapt out as writers who have made it big but still needed help and recognition from places like this. It's tough enough making a way through these comps and magazines, but without even these as stepping stones? Unhappy times. Ha! Thanks, Tania!
